model differences

Hi all
I am new here and hoping for a little help.

I am losing my hangar and have no other reasonable options in my area...........so I just sold my Buccaneer B2b seaplane.

I need to replace it with a folding wing flying machine which is why I am here.

I have a line on a Kitfox unfinished kit(barely started) .He said he thought it was a model 3 but here is the info i got from him.

There is no reference to the model # in the books.It has a kit# of 234.Plans revision date of 1988. Shoulder height cockpit measurement of 36 in.

Is the kit # the serial #????
According to the Kitfox history on this site it should be a model 1............but what about the cockpit width?? What other measurements should I ask for?
