How far do you want to go following Dean Wilson's genius?

Just Aircraft, Ridge Runner, Sky Raider can all trace their lineage to former Avid employees. (Not to mention Kitfox.) Their general architecture is all the same. There were a number of scratch built plans made available that mimicked or outright copied the Avid and Kitfox designs, like the Raven...

Now there is the Airdale which replaced the Avid+ which grew out of the Avid Flyer line.

The Avid Amphibian became the Catalina. That design has given birth or at least greatly inspired many others even (arguably) as far as the new Icon A5.

Some people have even have said that the the entirety of the Light Sport movement can be traced in one form or another to the Avid Flyer design of Dean Wilson. That may be open for debate, but you must admit that there are many dozens of designs that follow the pattern set forth by the Avid.
