912is What's In The Box?
I'm currently considering a 912is for my build but through all my research there is one thing I haven't found a ton of info on. What's in the box? I'm just trying to get an idea of what is included from Rotax when you buy a 912is engine or what you should expect to come packaged with the engine. I'd love to find an unboxing type video so I could see what it looks like when you receive one, but I can't seem to find one so I'm assuming I'm one of the few people who find this interesting lol. To anybody out there who has put a 912is on their plane what comes with the engine, what comes in the FWF kit and what were you left to source yourself?

I bought my engine through Kitfox so I'm not sure if the items that I received are peculiar to their sourcing of the engine of if it's a standard bill of materials. They could tell you for sure. The crate included:
- Engine
- ECU
- Wiring Harness
- Fuse Box
- Exhaust System
- Oil Tank
- Ring Mount (goes between the engine and the Kitfox-supplied firewall suspension frame)
- 2x Oil Change Kits (don't count on this; I lucked into a Rotax anniversary special edition engine that may have included non-normal extras)
- Paperwork and Stickers
Here's the parts list for the firewall forward kit as I got it from Kitfox a few years ago. It may have been updated so check with them if you need current gospel.

When I ordered my 912is, there was an option for a pre-assembled hose kit. I liked the thought of pros putting those together!

Re: 912is What's In The Box?
I ended up finding new never run 912is that is a few years old for sale. It was on a project plane but the owner ended up with a medical condition that will cause him to no longer be able to fly. It includes the engine, all manuals and paperwork, full harness with all connectors, ring mount, airbox, AN oil fittings, oil tank, oil pump, starter and relay, water pump and expansion tank, 2.43:1 reduction gearbox, exhaust system, radiator, oil cooler and oil can. It?s been in a heated hanger since they purchased it and is owned by a company as they were installing it for the owner. I don?t believe it will have the warranty since it has sat but the price is reduced and after speaking with a Rotax distributor they told me after running the serial number that there isn?t any additional costs they see me incurring due to its age and it actually hasn?t been registered yet. We?ll see how it goes it will either be a good deal and get me the engine I wanted but couldn?t afford or it I?ll be a headache lol. I put a deposit on it and it?s being crated for shipping now. I will give more details once it?s on its way as I?m hesitant to say too much as I?m always a little paranoid someone will try to steal the deal lol though I already put a deposit on it.
