Default Need a little help with brake lines

Had a blowout with my brake plumbing today and want to go with stainless steel reinforces lines. If you have done this, what size AN lines and fittings are you using and can somebody confirm that the Cleveland brake masters and the reservoir fittings are all 1/4 NPT.

    Thanks,
    Dave

I used AN3 lines on my model 3.

    Dave,

I do not have the cleveland masters so I am not sure I can offer anything for your question.

I do have a question to better help me understand the potential weak spots in a brake system, if you are OK sharing. I am assuming you had the traditional Nylaflo system which is used on our planes and a lot of other experimentals. One thing I have never able to find is any info on service life or half life of Nylaflo. I used 303 hose and AN fittings between the wheel caliper connection and the bottom of the gun drilled Grove gear - otherwise all is Nylaflo so mostly nylaflo. My question is where in the system did the blowout occur?

    Thanks,

I used the stainless from the calipers to the fuselage and AN3 adapters were what I used.

Dave, the fittings are 1/8 in. NPT.

Thank you all for the flood of info. The plane was completed in 2014 but I do not know how old the Nylaflo tubing was before the original install. The leak appears to be at the top fitting of the left rudder pedal where the tubing goes into the fitting.
My hanger in Phoenix also gets blazing hot in the summer so I am assuming that accelerated the breakdown of the tubing. I am going to replace all the lines with braided stainless Nylaflo lines and install a parking brake.
I will post up a materials list once I am done with the project for future reference.
