    Default Red cube calibration

I have an FT 60 fuel flow transducer and an MGL extreme EMS.
I don't have a return line to the tank
My actual fuel flow is nearly a litre per hour less than the flow shown on my MGL I am using a k factor of 18000 as a starting point
Has anyone taken the time to accurately dial in the setting.
I would like to get a little closer to actual usage
I assume decrease the k factor? But how much eg 200 or 2000? As a starting point
    Maths isn't my thing
    Cheers

    Dusty,
Yes, you need to decrease the K factor. I have this same red cube and have been able to dial it in very accurately by tweaking the K factor.
Use this simple formula to get your new K factor:

    (actual litre/hr) x (present K factor) = new K factor
    (present litre/hr reading)

If you know the actual litre/hr accurately, then the new K factor will put you right on. If the actual value is not quite right, then you will need to do this tweaking several times. The best way to get an accurate actual value is to top off the tanks, then fly at cruise for several hours or more and land where you can get fuel to top off the tanks again. Then knowing the actual amount of fuel pumped and the actual time of engine running will give a very good actual litre/hr.

I try to do this exercise once a year or so to verify my red cube accuracy. Good luck.

    Perfect
I Plan on flying in the next few days and will recalibrate based on your recommendations
    Thank you.
