    Default Outside Air Temperature location

Hi All, before I start drilling I will ask where do you install your OAT probe? I have Garmin OAT probe kit and was thinking about installing it on the frame of the triangle quarter window but is there any other possibilities?
    Thanks in advance

I went thru the bottom, right side under the seat where there was a steel gusset. You definitely want it mounted to something strong.

I think pretty much anywhere in the airstream is fine as long as it isn't in the engine exhaust plume or affected by engine heat.
I mounted mine on the belly, right side, just thru the fabric with an aluminum backing plate glued to the inside of the fabric.

I went through the quarter window right underneath the wing where it will be shaded and away from engine heat.

Just a headsup, be very careful when threading on the nut, making sure the threads are clean beforehand. Being it is SS, it galls up very easily (ask me how I know) and the probe can break trying to get the galled nut off (ask me how I know).

I went on the left aft fuselage under the horizontal stab on the frame for my battery access (you may not have this). This keeps it out of sunlight which gives false readings on the ground.

My post should have added, "in the shade".

I also went in the quarter window on the pass side.

I put mine in the same location as Harlan but actually in the plexiglass. I was so unsure of how this would look but as it turns out it is totally out of my mind. The length of the lead was the determining factor on where I put mine. Definetly did not want to cut into it (not recommended) to lengthen it.
