    Default 912IS ring mount help

Does anyone have a picture of the rear of the 912IS with the mount ring installed? I am needing to put the ring on the engine and want to see what it looks like and how everything routes around it. Thanks in advance.

There are pics in my build thread, and in others. Most things though get installed after the mount is on and engine in plane, so not much to worry about. Just put the harness on top of the engine for now.

Bryan - I thought I had some pictures but if I do, they are hidden in the unobtainium file. Mine is not an IS version but I do remember that in following instructions from someone, I removed some of the pickups to make routing the wire bundles/cables easier. Later I learned that others, much smarter than me, found a way to mount the ring without doing so. (I'm not suggesting which way wins the easiest award.) In a weird kind of way I'm glad I did because I learned two things. 1. the pickups are not keyed in any manner and they can be installed such that they WILL ABSOLUTELY interfere with flywheel rotation. While addressing that issue I discovered that two pickups from the factory were NOT set to factory specs so I had an opportunity to fix their error as well. So - I do recommend that before the engine is mounted you verify all of the pickups are set at the correct clearance. HTH in some way. Darrel
