    Default Another Tire Question.......

I have the Alaska 29 bush tires for my STi but understand that they will wear horribly on pavement. In looking for an alternative, I saw the standards (Dresser, Aero Classic) are all pretty much sold out and no clue on when they will be available. I have plenty of time before I need them and thought I would order now and hope for delivery in a year or so. But ran across Michelin 8.50x6 and while pricey, seem like they would be a decent hard runway tire. Anyone have any experience with these?

    Thanks ahead of time.

26" Goodyears are near bullet proof and a solid option that "bridges the gap".

Thanks. Had heard that before and they were in the hunt. I did put some on order with Aircraft Spruce. They are quoting a September delivery so we shall see. At least I could order them there. Dresser just said "Sold Out" and I couldn't do anything. Talked to Heather at Kitfox and she said they are having the same issues; waiting on moving delivery dates.

Spoke with Desser at Oshkosh and September was their best guess for shipments of the 8.50-6 Aero Classic

Thanks for the inputs Rick and Dave. Yeah Sept was the date I was hearing about Desser but a couple places had said that date was moving to the right so the faith just wasn't there. The Goodyears were more but still a third of the 29 Alaska Bush tires and they are tubeless so not worried about shearing off a stem with my inexperience.

I think I ordered the last set of 27.5 Aero Classics that ACS had in stock. Shows a UPS shipping weight of 41 lbs... so I hope I'll get a set of tires next week.
