Thread: KingFox Model 7 STi - beginning the build

Hello everyone & welcome to the KingFox Channel. In today’s episode I’ll be taking out the Puka center console (moniker given from a UK subscriber) for the 3rd time. I’ll be removing the rivets holding the adjustable rudder pedal & flap handle detent bracket, so I can add Hysol & then rivet everything back into place. This will make the entire center console more structurally sound for the punishment that I will be putting it through on future flights. I learned of my shortcomings after attending the KitFox Fly-In in June of this year. Stay tuned & glued to your YouTube browser as we take a deeper dive into fixing my mistakes.

    Thanks for watching.

Hello everyone & Happy Halloween. In this outrageously cool video I’ll be ringing in the Halloween Spirit all the while bring you some excellent content & documenting the installation the floorboards. Pretty exciting stuff really. I really hope that you do like what you see & it is maybe informative for those of you out there doing your builds or getting ready to & wanted to see what to do only once & learning from what I may have done incorrectly along the way.

Stay tuned to next week’s episode. I’m not going to say what it is about yet as that is sometimes subject to change. I look forward to seeing you though on the next episode.

    Thanks for coming back, Matt

Rather than what you just went through, many of us did it one of two different ways:
    1) Install nutplates on the tabs and change the screws to machine screws.

    2) I used Tinnerman nuts. You just drill the tab holes oversize, then slip on tinnerman nuts, change the screws to machine screws. This is a very easy solution.

    Hello Jim,

Thanks for the feedback. I actually learned of the Tinnerman & Rivnuts after I had done the work. Also probably not enough of looking through the forums. I did read a while back about using them under the floor of the storage compartment to ease taking it out for inspections but failed to see that for the floorboards. My Rivnuts just arrived so I’ll be putting them in soon I hope.

    Have a great Wednesday,

    Matt

I Hello everyone & welcome back to the channel. In this two part series I’ll be assembling & hopefully installing my rudder pedals. I’ve read a lot of blogs stating how much fun this is & I’m sure it will be the same with me. So stay tuned in & I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it. Cheers

Hello Sir, I see in the picture what appears to be a picture from one of my videos. I see the portion circled and I believe that it may be in reference to where a shim may be necessary. Is that what you are sharing with me? I looked back for other messages from you but I sometimes find it a bit difficult to navigate through this forum without getting lost and I also keep have to log in over and over each time I click on a post or a message.

    Thanks,

    Matt

Hello everyone & welcome back to the channel. In this video I’m trying to finish up the brackets that pass over the top of the adjustable rudder pedal pulley & the rudder pedal pulley. In the previous episode I cut two of them at 4.5” each & they should have been cut directly in half at 5” each. I had to source the material locally at a welding shop. I was able to fabricate the brackets & get them installed on the pulleys. I get all the way up to the point of installing in the fuselage when I discover an issue that I will address in the following video. Thanks for coming back & I hope you will learn from my mistakes.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Hello everyone & welcome back to the channel.

In this episode, I’m gonna be discussing the errors I made while installing the rudder pedals in the KingFox. I hope what I discuss in this episode will help all that watch whom are building a kit avoid making the same errors I have made.

Thanks for stopping back by and enjoy.

Hello everyone & welcome back to the channel. In this video I’ll be unboxing some avionic I’ve received in the mail. In addition to that I will be replacing the torque tubes that I messed up in the previous video. Thanks for coming back & I hope that you find today’s video informative. If so or if not comment either way please.

    Have a grandiose day,
