    Can you explain to me the need for larger crossover tubes?

    Larger crossovers allow for a more well balanced intake system. Balancing the carbs is still HIGHLY recommended, but this allows for the small differences, even with balanced carbs, to be made up for. Allows for smoother idle at around 1600 to 1700 rpm and drastically reduces the shakes that are seen at that low rpm with stock crossovers.

    if I’m not mistaken there is a deep dive into this topic by Hal as this an adaptation to something he initially did years ago.
