The Dynon is a receiver/ antenna, needs to be mounted facing up. Some people put their GPS on above the panel, but Dynon says for best result mount it on top of the fuselage. I was wondering if anyone had mounted one to the skylight?

My Garmin ADSB GPS antenna if underneath my dash cover. Works great and is out of sight.

I mounted my Dynon antenna to the built-in antenna mount just aft of the skylight. Then I mounted my comm antenna underneath on the belly with one of those bent antennas. Works great and seems to make a lot of sense (to me); the gps needs to see the sky, and the comm is most often receiving/sending from below.

I put the Garmin G3X GPS antenna under the fiberglass dash board top and the ADSB GPS antenna just under the cloth baggage sack under the rear of the turtle deck. Both are working great and out of sight.

You have to look really close in this picture but just visible is a small aluminum plate I bonded on the fuse weldment. The antenna for my EFIS is hidden, almost out of sight, there.

If you have the gps 20a “adsb waas gps” you don’t need a gps antenna for the g3x. It can acquire position via can bus from the gps 20. I put my gps20a behind pilots seat so I put the antenna on a mounting plate on the side of the fuselage below the turtle deck and under the baggage sack.
