Default 6 foot long (20 inches wide) surfboard

Does anybody know what the internal cabin dimensions of a kitfox are including luggage compartment. I'm looking for a LSA that's roomy enough to fit a 6' long surfboard into the fuselage behind seats. No problem in C172 but LSA without backseats a lot harder...any experience here on the forum? Or skis? Surfboards are obviously pretty light so CoG should be fine.

I know of a guy who used to carry a plastic kayak under his Avid Flyer. I'm guessing one could do the same with a surfboard if you couldn't get it inside. JImChuk

    dirk01,

Many of us have added light weight flooring aft of the standard cargo area, and installed a zipper(s) or other means of opening the rear surface of the cargo "sack" to be able to allow long items to be secured and carried. I'm speaking about the Series 7... not sure about earlier models. A 6 ft. light weight board would probably be possible.

Keep in mind that what John suggests above for a Series 7 would not work in some (all?) of the earlier models. My Series 5 has a welded diagonal tube just aft of the standard baggage compartment that would block expansion of baggage volume to the rear.

Mine is 69" long. I don't believe longer is possible inside a 7.
The narrowest point at the back is 14" but the middle would be fine.
Your board would taper anyhow. I built mine to fit a snowboard.
