Default Material for Tail Spring Plate

Does anyone know what material is used for the Tail Spring Plate, part 11114.201, circled in the image below?

Mine seems to have wandered off somewhere between the Kitfox factory, the original builder, and my garage!

I can fabricate the part, but I don't see any notes on the type of steel. (I'm assuming it's steel. Maybe not...)

Probably 4130 but you might be surprised how affordable the part is if you just order it from Kitfox.

    I measured mine. It's from a circa 1995 kit. It's 1.25" x 2.50"x.065-.070 because of paint. Definitely steel, probably 4130.

I agree with Alex though. Unless you have a piece laying around, the time, shipping, and aggravation.....Kitfox can drop that in an envelope.

A quick email exchange with Kitfox and the $10.00 part is on the way. Shipping is extra, but given that I don't have a steel sheet laying around, that's a wash.

    Thanks, all.

I made it out of 1/8 4130, and upgraded the bolts to 1/4" NAS. A number of those have sheared with the
stock AN-3 and the thin plate. Spruce has the 4130, and it's cheap enough

I also upgraded to 1/4" bolts, and reinforced the upper plate.
