    Default ARKANSTOL Flyin and Competition

The ArkanStol flyin is finishing up today in Ozark Arkansas. Looks like alot of fun. Wish I had known about it, I live just 2 hours from there.
There are some pretty good Videos out there of the event which began last year and has grown for the second outing this year.
Instead of a STOL Drag style race it is a T/O and Land on 4 different runways to see who can fly the slowest fastest...
I'll definitely be there next year.

Byrds Adventureland is the location. Very nice setup.

I was thinking about going this year but a friend of mine sent me a link.

Don't know if this is common with STOL competitions but it gives me pause.

Apparently there has been some controversy about that specific event. From what I understand helmets are not required and just a minimum
amount of skills to enter. Some very short runways, tall trees and low turns needed. Of course Dan Gryder is all over it like flies on sh#$%.
He makes some good points. 3 accidents just this year. It's not an FAA-sanctioned event so no relief on the regs that you'll run into
an event like that. Never been myself but apparently it's hugely popular. Hopefully people are not attending to see accidents like they do
    for car races.
