What is acceptable play, both side to side and up and down, in the leading edge of the tailplane as a result of the electric trim system?

Mine hasn't flown yet but play in the stab is barely perceptible

I was surprised how much play the trim motor has in it. Both of are aircraft are the same way from day 1. Most of the play is up and down but side to side also has play.

Mine has a small amount of play up & down also... that seems to be the norm for these particular linear actuators, I suppose due to gear backlash. I don't have much, if any side play, which has nothing to do with the actuator ("trim motor"). That's controlled by how good a fit you have between the plastic guides and the square tube they run against.

Better to have some side to side play, than to not. If you have no play, then quite likely you are close
to having binding problems, which the actuators are not going to like.
