    Default Classis IV

Anyone know the Kitfox Classic IV tube thickness? 4130 -`0.35 or 0.49 I am in the process of fixing a hard landing. Tom

Around the landing gear cluster. Is there a drawing available showing the fuselage and tubing sizes?

This is what I did on my Kitfox 4 when I rebuilt it to protect that area from the grove gear. I actually copied what Larry had done on his Kitfox 4 cause it seemed like a real good idea. I would do it again. JImChuk

Certainly strengthens that area. As you know the force has to dissipate somewhere. Wonder what subsequent hard landings did to other frame parts? Any experience after this mod?

Thanks for showing this Jim. I am curious to know if you MIG or TIG welded the gussets in? That is the next step in my model IV build.

They were tig welded into place. But mig would be fine as well I believe if done correctly. The rest of the fuselage is mig welded. JImChuk
