Default Tires for building & initial traning?

    Hi guys,

Ashley and I were just curious about what (small) tires you would recommend during the build. We'd be wanting to mount them during the build so we can move it around but still get in and around the plane easily. Seems like John and others do this in their shops.

I'm also thinking that it would makes sense for us to learn on these tires as we'll be doing just a lot of pavement landings and can't justify burning through expensive ones. New to all this so looking for suggestions / feedback. The stock SS7 kit doesn't come with any do they?

I believe the stock SS7 landing gear Kit comes with 6x6 tires, which are fine for moving around the shop and learning on pavement.

Tailwheel? 100% aero classic 8.50's to learn. They are hard as nails and forgiving.

Thats good to hear. We just emailed them today to find out what the kit comes with. Am curious if these are good learning tires or not.

Yes we're going for a tailwheel configuration. The 8.50-6 aero classics come up often so considering those as a stepping stone to bigger tires. The only thing is from the pictures the diameter seems considerably bigger and thinking that might lift the plane a lot in the front making it harder to work on. One of us is quite short so it will already be a reach working with tires on.

What about the rear? We're getting the T3 tailwheel suspension but no ABI tailwheel yet for same/similar reasons. Figured having the suspension upfront will help us beef things up in the back mounting area before covering. Trying to figure out if the stock tail wheel arm/wheel assembly with the upgraded suspension would be sufficient for now / learning.
