I have the pictured door latches on my Series 5. I'm wondering if anybody has had any issues with them, and is it worth it to swap them out to a newer style latch.

I "borrowed" the picture from DesertDave's classified ad.

They work fine, I never had any issued. I swapped mine out because I wanted to fly with my doors cracked open and I wanted the ability to somewhat lock out lookie lou people.

When I did my demo flight at skystar many years ago , one thing on my did not like list was with those door latches , i could open the back of the door with a slight push of my elbow. I opted for a dual pin latch system that gives a much more secure closure of the door. will try to find pictures. Bruce N199CL
Found pics, search for dual latch pin door handles and on page 3 of that thread I have photos of mine. Bruce N199CL
Thanks guys.

Mike , I built mine based on drawings given to me from the old factory (Skystar) . They must be fabricated totally from scratch and there is lots of machining, bending and welding involved. The easy way out would be to buy them from Kitfox as I recall they took me several weeks to build. If you are so inclined to take on the task send me a P.M. Bruce N199CL
