    Default Classic IV-1200 Firewall question

Hi friends. Bought a partially built Classic IV-1200 with firewall for a Rotax 582. I intend to install a Rotax 912 ULS. Do I have to replace current firewall?

Yes, and mount and cowling. Kitfox still sells the install kit for the 912 on the IV. If you decide on the smooth cowl you might check out this thread for more info: https://teamkitfox.com/Forums/thread...912-conversion

Actually, you said it was partially built. Does that mean the firewall has not been installed? The 582 firewall will have a box built into the lower half of it for the starter. If it hasn't been installed yet, you might be able to omit that and use your current kit. If you decide to go with the smooth cowl, you'll need to fabricate the box for the oil tank in the upper half of the firewall. The kit comes with flat pieces of stainless and you have to form the box yourself anyway.
