Default Tabs on bottom of fuselage?

What are the 6 tabs on bottom of the fuselage for? I haven't found them in the book yet.

I thought they were for float rigging.

They are for a cargo belly pod or something similar, way to weak for float rigging.

I was thinking water rudder cross over bosses or something not structural but the geometry doesn't make sense anyway.

With the amount of people who don't run pods I wonder why more don't just cut em off.

If they have nothing to do with float, ski or cabane gear mounting I would prefer to cut them off as well. I'm glad someone asked! They seem like a pain to trim fabric around (considering what can happen as it shrinks).

Why not leave them on; the next owner might want to use them. They are really no problem with the fabric, just apply and shrink the fabric over the top of them without cutting thru. Then after the last shrink cut thru with a small soldering iron and let them pop thru. Apply a round doily over each one and you are done.
