    Daniel,

    Really looks nice.

Mavbe I missed it somewhere along the line; but, what did you choose for a fabric covering system?

Love yellow - it is really visible.

    Congratz on your airworthiness inspection!

    Your
bird is looking nice and ready to go! Transport hardware turned out great as well!

Hope the training goes smooth for you.

Conduit - it's not just for electrical anymore!!! Your plane looks great. Nice work. The grin when you fly it the first time will be worth all the work.

Dave S., I went with Oratex. Wife said no stinky chemicals near the house!

If I built another airplane, I'll probably use Oratex, again, *BUT* I will definitely have a second set of hands for stretching the stuff over large areas that need to be glued down, like the Laker leading edge.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! I'm very glad to be done with the project. I addressed all the squawks Paul Dye found and he entered the airworthiness into the AWC. The FAA says it can fly!

Not yet. Falcon insurance wants transition training and a sign off before they'll cover me.

There are still some odds-n-ends to get taken care of, too. Install stall fences, wingtips, register the ELT. Little stuff, really.

    Folks,

I did initial basic flaperon rigging before I covered - stick to neutral, flap forward, flap to flaperon mixer attachment to 11.5 degrees, flaperon bell crank as close to parallel as possible with line-of-flight, left push tube arm to 26 degrees (right to 32), flap/flaperon mixer to 3.7? (per Brandon for the STi, I also tested with 3.6, 3.8, 3.9, and 4.0 per the manual). Flaperon chord parallel to wing chord (2 1/2? block at front spar, level with flaperon brackets - this is different than the standard S7 wing which has a shorter chord depth).

In short, everything is per the manual.

    Heres the problem:

The right flaperon is perfect in full range of motion: 28-30 degrees down, 15-16 degrees up.

The left flaperon is off, but ONLY in down deflection, I can only get 10 degrees. Up deflection is fine: 28 degrees.

If it was a couple degrees I?d ignore it, but it?s a full 5 degrees, noticeable by eye.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    thanks!
