    Default Kitfox IACO

I am trying to setup the IACO info in fltplan.COM and not coming up with the IACO identifier for the kitfox? I tried FOX but its saying its not valid. When I go to the link below it shows it as FOX. Anyone ever file a flight plan and what is the IACO identifier you used? I have a message into fltplan.com to see what they say. Maybe its something internally in their system?

I don't have a fltplan.com account, so I can't play around with this, but there are a couple of other options. You might try VIX, which is the ICAO code for the SkyStar Vixen and Voyager, or if that doesn't work, try this, from FAA Order 7360.1D:

"ZZZZ – Aircraft type not yet assigned a designator, with a description of the type in Item 18 (Other Information) of the ICAO flight plan or Remarks of a NAS flight plan."

If neither of those are a suitable solution, you could try emailing fltplan.com support at: support@fltplan.com

I have sent fltplan.com a email but figured there has to be an ID for an aircraft not assigned. I will give those a try and report back.

Occasionally when transitioning thru Class B airspace the controller will ask for the designator and i give them FOX. They have never questioned it.

Okay I got an email back from fltplan.com. They don't have kitfox in their database and told me to use the closest aircraft to it. I am thinking rans S20 is the closest I could find, but I dont want to be called a rans so I think I will use ZZZZ.

Are you talking about the " performance" column? That just autopoulates the performance page for the airplane so you don't have to enter absolutely everything. Use the Rans and it will put that in. Then go to the performance page and change what you need. FOX gets typed in under the ICAO column.

Fox appears to work under the IACO aircraft type, but when you try and create a flight plan is says "aircraft type is invalid" I was able to get it to work by using ZZZZ as aircraft type and filled out the IACO information. I used cessna 152 performance numbers, then went in and modified them. I just filed an IFR flight plan and it said aircraft type is invalid but it still filed it. Flight aware is showing I am expected to depart in 30 min.
