What is that? Kinda looks like a Hummel bird from that pic.

That is sweet! Ive been contemplating one of those (Hummel Bird) myself. Im on the smaller side so the original version would suit me well. Keep us posted even if it isn't a Kitfox.

Been doing a lot of cold weather flying and the heater is good to about 30 on a cloudy day and it takes more clothes than I like to wear. It works a lot better if the sun is shining but we haven't had much of that.
So, I started closing up some air gaps and hung a curtain in the baggage compartment.
Now flights down to 20 have been fine with a jacket on.
The last pic is a little air to air flight just before sundown.
130 hours since April's first flight and still having fun!
Steve please flip the baggage compartment. Thanks

Harlan, I do a lot of all winter flying here in western NY and over the years i have plugged all the area that you are currently doing. Also used to put up the baggage compartment curtain. Probably the best thing I have done to keep that Kitfox chill ( that cold breeze that comes from the empennage) to a minimum is to install the stab trim slot brushes that was designed and posted by Jim Ott ("jiott" thanks jim) under the post "stabilizer trim slot closeout". I set my personal best cold weather flight a few days ago (it was 11 deg @ 3K) and it was totally bearable. and I no longer need the curtain-i would estimate it cuts that cold breeze down by 75%. You are in a colder climate than we are Bruce. But we still have teens several mornings here in the winter and below 0 a few days. I have not flown several days because of cabin discomfort. I do have those closeouts you are talking about. I need something around the elevator outlet I am thinking but haven't gotten that far. Just trying to keep flying! Haha
I will say I have good heat on your front side with the 180 thermostat but I'm trying to stop the fresh air hitting the backside.

Yeah, probably.
I keep a microfiber cloth in my plane for that very reason.

I've been scouting for more bars for my new big tire friends that need plenty of room. These are a couple of really nice bars to have Saturday morning fun events on.
