I really like that Harlan. Which type of filament did you use for this?

I'm not sure what you are asking about which type of Filament? You will have to dumb it down a little for me. haha

I don't think he 3D Print the attachment piece, Looks like he copied the inside contour of the airfoil, transferred that to his computer, and printed out the shape to trace onto wood....

No Filament. I know I got excited too as I have a 3D Printer myself

I 3d printed the flaperon end caps on my Kitfox 4 project. First picture is on the airplane with the wings folded and they fit great. Second is what the 3d model looked like. I used PLA for these because I was going to paint them, but decided I like them black. Since the airfoil is symmetric, the rounded end is perfect from being a body of revolution 180 degrees. The part that sticks inside the flaperon has a step the thickness of the skin so everything is flush. Since they are unpainted PLA, I'll keep an eye on them and redo them in ABS if needed. The attached zip file is the stl file in case anyone else wants to print some.

Like others have said, I thought you 3D printed these.

Finally got the inspection covers finished. I went ahead and put the brushes in that slow the drafts. Thanks Jim Ott.

Ready to work on interior now.

Yeah Jim did us a solid when he shared that little tidbit eh? I literally ordered the stuff after I read it and was not even close to being ready for it. Looks good Harlan. So you decided to cover the covers with the Oratex rather than paint them? Also did you use the tool to do the edges or the block of wood trick that John Evans used?

    Gary,
I've got that roller tool if you want to borrow it. Works great.
