Completed installation of aerodynamic fairings on the HS lift struts. (Thanks Joe Ruscito.) Also, fabricated and installed close outs for said struts. Completed installation of brushes on the slot in the VT fairing (thanks Jim Ott).

The third picture is there to remind me to mention, I my case, the bolt attaching the trim drive arm needed to be turned around or it would drag on the installed brush. And, if the truth were to be known, I had originally mounted the other three bolts reverse of what is shown here but one of then seriously gouged the fairing. Glad I caught it when I did.

Post Oshkosh cleaning, oil change and carb balance.
I was surprised how few bugs were smashed onto the airplane.
Next up, purchase and install a Garmin EFIS package and autopilot.

Oh Dave, say it isn't true! Pretty soon I'll probably be one of the few left "proudly rocking round dial gauges"!

    😂 John,
The steam gauges are getting a little long in the tooth. My turn coordinator is making noises that it shouldn’t make and I want an autopilot. It’s time!

Completely understand! An added plus is probably some weight savings... both the airplane and your wallet. Autopilot is nice - I have one too.

You can't have an autopilot with steam gauges?
