An Avid Flyer MK IV is very similar to a Kitfox 3. I had my Avid fuselage stripped completely down, nothing there but what was welded together, and it weighed 75 lbs. JImChuk

that`s only 34 kg, of 208 kg (232 for Avid) of empty weight of the entire aircraft. What are the heaviest parts? Except engine

    My guess:
    Fabric/Covering/Paint
    Wing Structure
    Instrument Panel/Avionics
    Landing Gear
    Upholstery
    Fuel Lines/Wiring/Control Wires

    anybody have weighed the wings?
I`ll explain, what I am trying to find out. There is no limitation on number of seats for 115 kg planes in my country, so I am exploring
the possibility to lighten Raven/ Kitfox to this limit. It does not look totally impossible at first glance, using carbon, titanium or aluminium instead of steel and wood

115 kg (254 lbs) would be the same as the US ultralight category. Take a look at the Kitfox Lite (changed to Belite, and now Bandland Aircraft) and you can see what the original Denney Kitfox company had to do to get the aircraft down to the ultralight category.

Thank you! It looks almost the same except that it is single seat. Same steel frame. Looks like this has confirmed my point of view that two seat 115 is possible

Not a chance. I have a similar design to the kitfox lite designed and the fuselage without tail surfaces is about 26 pounds. The lite uses a smaller lighter rotax 447. That is just the beginning.

I`ve found an engine, that is 10 kg and 40 hp. Made in UK https://www.aieuk.com/225cs-40bhp-wankel-rotary-engine/

So lets put this another way. My Kitfox IV with a rotax 582 weighs 560 lbs empty. So you found a 10 kg (22 lb) engine and a rotax 582 weighs 29kg (64 lbs) so you have so far saved 19 kg (42 lbs) that would bring the whole airplane down to 518 pounds. You still have to lose 264 lbs to get down to 254 lbs. You are in fantasy land if you think you can lose 264 pounds from the airframe.
