Default Kitfox Matco upgrade for earlier models

I’ve updated my Matco brake MC-1 to MC-5 with new 7.25 disc and brake pads for around $500.

One suggestion, get the master cylinder intensifier kit $22 and they can install it and test it before they ship it.. Also the disc they sell is 7.50 and mine was 7.25 and had to mill it down. Some Kitfox came with 7.25 and some with 7.50 It’s not an issue. Matco is great with answering questions and having you order the right part.

    72,

Matco MC-4 uses a remote reservoir while the MC-5 uses an integral reservoir (that is the large round top on the MC-5).

Matco is wonderful to work with as others have said.

Their website provides all the dimensions and configurations of all of their cylinders (there are a lot of variations)

I also replaced one seal in each brake calipers. Easy to do, just remove the piston. $0.29 cents each.

    This from Matco.

I also provide the MC-5i and install links below so the MC-5A unit will have the same size piston as the MC-1 that you are removing. This provides the same pressure output as the MC-1. It is not necessarily required but quite desired since the Kitfox has generally poor pedal geometry. The MC-5i kits will make it easier to get the 450 psi required at the brake for the rated torque.

    Thank you

I misread, what makes the mc-5 better than the mc-1?
