    Default Leaking airmaster prop

I have a Airmaster CS prop on my Kitfox that has been leaking grease since new. I now have over 100 hours and still leaking grease. I was never able to get answers from anyone. I finally found buried on the Airmaster website they have just recently issued Service Bulletin APL-SB18 and have acknowledged this is an issue. If you are having the same issue you can get a larger O-ring from Airmaster to fix the problem according to the SB.

Hope that stops the messy prop issue Monty. I remember seeing a little grease on that prop after flying it.

Yes it has become worse not better. Have to remove the spinner every 3-4 hours and clean it. At least I have found the answer now. Now we will see how Airmaster responds.

Is it the large o rings on the blade retention nuts going into the hub ?

Yes it is. The O Ring just under the large black retention ring.

Thanks for the heads up. Mine was leaking but I tightened to flange nuts thinking that was the issue. I’ll send them an email. I love that prop and they’ve been quick to answer.

Let me know if you get an answer. They have only answered one of my e-mails. My question is How can I get 3 of the larger O rings ((PO414-232)? and will Airmaster pay for the repair. If you find out please let me know and I will do the same.

I’d personally just be happy to get the correct O-ring size. You should be pulling and greasing your blades yearly anyway but I’ll let you know.

    Monty,

I’ve been in contact with Airmaster. They are asking me to measure gaps on the hub. Did the new o-rings solve your issue and do you know of a stateside supplier?
