No, I did not “prevalence” the prop. There’s no need to do this.

    .

The overall diameter is approximately 7”.
Thickness is approximately 2”, which includes the “dish” to the plate.

So sorry to hear about Mangy - glad there was no serious structural damage. Had the chance to see Mangy at OshKosh a couple of years ago and it is a beautiful airplane.

I talked to Chris at the Balance Master shop and he told me that due to Hal, they are making another balance disk that will fit on the back of the stator of the engine.

As we know, the engine runs at one RPM and the prop at another; so - one disk is designed for propeller RPM and the other for the engine. Very interesting concept.

I've balanced my engine with a Dyna-Vib, but I too have some RPM's that are still a little rough. I'm ordering a balance disk tomorrow, and am anxious to get it installed and tested.

Thanks Av8r3400 for letting us know about this development. And, if Hal says its a good deal, I'm sold.

    Regards
    Rodney

Are you ordering from Hal or direct from balance masters? Thanks

I'm ordering directly from Chris who is the owner of Balance Master. Very nice to work with.

Would have ordered from Hal, but I'm getting two units. One for my 912 propeller and a second model for a different application - needed to get some tech info from Chris to make sure I can make the second one work. He has a "flat plate" unit and I'll have to do a little machining, but I'm reasonable convinced I can make it fit.

I'm hoping someone will order the new model that goes on the 912 itself and report their findings.

Going off your recommendation and ordered one of aircraft spruce! I used the dynavibe g3x and got mine down to .05ips at 5000rpms. I can fill it being out of balance at other RPMS though, so I am hoping it helps smooth it out. If not, it will be for sale soon.

Just a heads up, when I called Balance Masters it was more money than Aircraft Spruce. He told me to buy from Aircraft Spruce that you can get it cheaper.
