    Default Tailwheel Tow Bar

What recommendations are out there for a tailwheel tow bar that does not break the bank and works well?

I don't think you could get a cheaper tailwheel tow bar than making this.

They have gotten more expensive since I bought mine... I have a Matco 8inch tailwheel with a T3, but don’t get the one for Matco. You’ll need to get the next bigger one, I think it’s the baby bush one. Tow bar works well with it and I really like it, but they are pricey.

I think this is the same tow bar:

I did put these inserts in, makes a good fit with no scratches:

I made this one for under $20. Cheap plastic wheels, some 1" square tubing and a little bit of 1/2" steel rod, plus some welding. You slip it around the wheel and lift the tail wheel right off the ground a couple of inches. The mechanical advantage makes it easy. Nice for use around the hangar.

I’ve never had a need for a tail-dragger dragger. My tail wheel swivels and I just use the handle on the left side of the fuselage to push the plane around.

I’m with you Larry, and I’ve got handles on both sides, but especially going up hill a little with the heavier Series 7, the “dragger” is easier on this old guy.

My plane was built without the handle so I don’t have that option unfortunately
