    Default New Skis

This may be a little pre-mature.. but we have a new set of wheel penetrating skis becoming available.. They are Composite and are currently setup of the Grove gear (will be for tube shortly) Total weight is approximately 14 lbs per ski and can be setup for 600-6, 800-6 or 8.50-6 tires. Give a call for more info.

I would not recommend ski's on a tricycle gear,..not saying it couldn't be done , anything can be done if one puts their mind to it..it's just allot of the airplanes weight on that single front point ,..it's like landing in a muddy air field with a tricycle gear ,..but it's ussually not the landing that causes problems ,..it's takeing off and not have the front wheel sink further in the mud ie the ski sinking further in the snow ..
if your commited to landing on only ice,..say a frozen lake etc ..then ski's or wheels either config. just one has brakes ..one doesn't

Not far from you Dorsal there is a winter fly in in NH where they actaully plow a runway on the ice,..near lake winnepesaquey ,..not far from wiers beach,..I've seen twins land on that runway on rubber ..almost all the planes are on rubber ..maybe one or two on floats and one or two on ski's
