So I have an issue with my C geabox. The shaft seal behind the small gear was leaking so I removed the gearbox to inspect and found that the seal itself had come completely out of its bore. The seal is a bit too loose in the bore and can be pushed in from the coupler side of the case using just finger pressure.

The seal appears fine and is the right size (32x47x7). I ordered a new seal and will try it, but I have a feeling that it will be no different.

So, I' thinking about what to do if the new seal arrives and is also a bit loose.

I know if it were something else, I'd probably peen around the seal bore to disrupt the metal just enough to tighten the fit of the seal. I am also thinking about applying an adhesive or sealer to the seal when I push it in, but am not sure what type of sealer would be best. I'm thinking either a loctite type product or something like Yamabond.

Anyone have any ideas?
