Wish I could have spent more time at the BBQ (and actually tasted the food) and with the Kitfox group in general this year. It was great to talk to other Kitfox owners and pilots. Next year I will learn to step back faster when EAA asks for volunteers. Thanks to Larry and his wife for hosting. And it is good to hear everyone made it home ok.

    Until next year,

    Hey Everyone,

Wanted to add to this. The BBQ was such a great event. This was our first introduction to the KF community, and after spending several days at Oshkosh (first time also), there is just something really special and welcoming about the KF community that we didn't find elsewhere. Looking forward to following Nik's build as he gets back on his feet, and thanks for sharing so many of your thoughts on the plane as well as your experience. A big thanks to Darren & Mic for talking to us about their build and letting us check out your planes (was our first Kitfox that we got to sit in!).

Just a little background (intro), Ashley and I are newbie student pilots, just a few hours in, and we're learning to fly for fun because we live in the PNW. We're borrowing 172s from the local flying club for training, but had our eye open for something more. At OSH, we finally got to see all these different makes/models and have to say they are SO different in person. The fit and feel when you sit in them is really different from first impressions and looking at pictures. We looked at a Rans S-21, nice but planes a bit bulky and didn't like how we felt sitting in it. Sat in one of the bigger Vans, also roomy but too much sheet metal. Glasair Sportsman has a beautiful design steep price for all the composite work i guess.

Any how, we just found the KF community to be such a great crowd and in the end, after bugging John and Brandon for several hours we ended Oshkosh by putting in our order for a Kitfox. Now the long wait, and hopefully you guys won't mind as we start to ask a lot of questions!

    Really enjoyed meeting everyone

Congratulations Aaron. You won't regret becoming one of us. Sorry I wasn't able to stick around for the BBQ. Enjoy your training, do it often and get it done. You'll spend less that way.
