Ocotillo Wells Dry Lake Bed (L90) is a nice spot for off field landings too.

Thanks Michael, definetly will try there as well
Thanks Paul. I have to look into why I have not found this beforehand. I should be getting emails from Rotax or something. Thought thats why we send in the registration cards. Anyhow, Flew yesterday and it was very interesting how I was not thinking so much about having a problem. Makes for a more enjoyable flight I must say.
Blue Stain! Arrrgh.
Dang it. Those little particles of fiberglass have finally caused the sample port under my right wing to leak. I did my fuel sample and it seems I didn't notice the leak afterward. I flew 40 min and noticed the leak upon parking. Nice 1.5" wide blue streak along the bottom of the wing.:(. It doesn't clean up either. Anyhow, tipped the plane to allow transfer of fuel to the other tank, removed the valve, cleared the debris, reinstalled. Im so tired of finding this debris. I think I must still be finding this because I only occasionally top off the tanks. I would think that the sloshing around of 3/4 full tanks would have cleared the tanks by now. What a drag. On a positive note, Had a really cool overnight trip though.
Well shoot Eddie. Have you found something to clean the stain yet? This nagging problem will give you something to think about so you aren't too bored on your cross countries.
I think its silver paint aft of the valve. Wish I would have thought of it but had I put some clear anti chafe tape aft of that valve, I could have just replaced the tape I suppose. I might even be able to place a patch of "sacrificial" Oratex over the stain. If it happens again I can just heat, remove the patch, and reinstall.
I've got a stain aft of one of those valves also, Eddie. Like you, I've thought of an overlay of Oratex, but it's not very noticeable under there. Mine's stained from auto gas though.
John did your sump drain leak also? Are you running ethonal?
I feel for you guys with Orotex if it stains that easily. After flying for 6 years I find its impossible to keep the gas off the fabric no matter how careful you are. A little spill during fueling, a small seep from a sump drain valve, overflow from the tank cap vents with full tanks if you sideslip or fly with ball not centered or park on a slight incline, etc. Aerothane on Polyfiber easily cleans up when I get home.
