Steve,
Looks like a beautiful morning flight. And to do it with DF1 would be a pleasure. Good to see you flying along with your building. I can't wait to see your new bird!

Man, I love seeing everyones pictures but Steve, Yours affect me in a different way as that area is where all my flight time was done. Thanks, inspires me to get back to the garage again.
Happy Father's Day everyone.

Steve, I hangar in Marana, AZ and had the very same idea. Love getting in some flying before it gets hot. Not that many planes around at 6:00 am here so able to land short on rwy. 03 (not as commonly used here) in the Vixen and turn off at the first turn right to the hangars saving the tires. Love it!!
Beautiful sunset pictures.
I headed up Hell's Canyon in my plane along with a friend in his Super Cub on Friday. We flew the canyon around 4000' which is well below the peaks. The plan was to land at the Memaloose, OR airstrip (elevation 6700'). Unfortunately there were clouds right over the airstrip. We never saw the runway even though we were about a mile away.
We didn't see any mountain goats either. Otherwise it was a great flight.
Nice pics GMKman. Sweet sunrise photo. Marana is one of our favorite close in destinations.
Thanks Mike, Steve and Eddie. Our flying to building ratio has been out of balance as of late. Always enjoy videos, photos and narrative of those out flying.
Amazing how even a short flight in one of these aircraft improves ones outlook for the rest of the day or week.:)
Hey Phil - that is rugged country! Remind you of West Papua I guess!..love these 'where I fly' pics!

Wow Phil, that's some rough terrain below. Nice!!
I had to post this link after seeing the pics of the Hell's Canyon flight. Idaho has some incredible opportunities for a variety of flying experiences. Our Flights of Six group has become mostly a memory, but a great one at that.

A couple of scenes of river flying. The first is not in Idaho, but in Northern Nevada. For the California Kitfox guys it was a ritual to fly this river every trip coming and going to the Idaho festivities whether the factory fly-in or just flying around. With flying around in mind, the second segment is a flight up the length of Hell's Canyon with a stop at Doug Bar - 45 deg 48' 20" N 116 deg 41' 21" W
Very nice, Lowell,
Hell's Canyon is indeed a special place.
