I used Shapeways. Multi jet fusion printed in pa-12 with glass beads for strength. They are strong. Tried breaking and couldn’t. I drilled and tapped and material felt solid.

Its good to get back out flying! Went searching for new landing spots. Found a new spot on top of a ridge. It looked pretty lumpy, but it was not bad. So fun to land in new spots with no one around for miles!

You sure have some nice places to fly and we enjoy seeing them.
Weather has not been the best, so no off-airport landings lately. Decided to start early on the condition inspection. Leak-down looking good. 79, 79, 78, 78. (Over 80) Oil filter is looking good and I have sent off oil samples. Hopefully the AL count is come down also. I had high AL count due to a defect in manufacturing of the oil pump. Gear box seams to be holding up to the extra HP.

Excuse the dumb question, but does the gearbox and engine share the same oil system? I guess I'm really asking if you have to send in 2 oil samples to AvLab (or whoever).
No worries! Yes they share the same oil. Oil sample "should" show if you have something going on in the gear box also. The mag plug (magnetic plug) comes out of the gearbox so it will be apparent if the gear box is making metal right away because its a magnet. So you only need to send in one oil sample. Interesting note. One sample Corys was showing high Silcone in the sample. I then did a trip to Idaho and lots of smoke in the air. Guess what my Silcone reading was high on my next sample. So samples are pretty sensitive!
Condition inspection completed and ready to get out and do some more flying! It has been a windy spring so far, but hoping to have a good streak of weather coming up. Got out and tested the new door handles and they are keeping me cool! Raced my shadow for a bit. Always a good day when you go flying!

I have been looking at this spot for some time now. Its just under 9000' and it suffers from morning canyon winds. The other morning conditions where just right. I have to approach up a canyon, so its up there on the risk scale. I start high and orbit over-top checking winds. Then I made an approach down the canyon leaving myself and out before I committed. It was an uphill landing, so landing roll was short. Takeoff downhill was less than landing. I always want to stay longer when landing at off airport spots, but I am always nervous in getting out before conditions change. Fun stuff!

Fantastic picture! It's great to see that you're having so much fun with that beautiful airplane, and doing it safely.
Dude! Wow! Where's the "like" button?! ;)
