Lowell, that's a perfect description of the Owyhee strip, its so narrow that a wheel landing is nearly mandatory so you can see where your going.
Phil, I had planned to camp overnight at Owyhee, but it was so hot and desolate that I decided to go to the next spot, Land Inn Ranch-cool, green and shady.

Nice pics, they bring back many fond memories. I use be able throttle back to idle shortly after departing Big Bear Airport and glide dead stick into Runway 24 at Rialto Airport (now closed).

We're having a horrible drought (Been 10 years of really below par Rain and I'm tired!), but that doesn't mean that we (My brother and I) can't still have a load of fun in the Wriggleswade Dam....
