Baggage Sack Floor
My series 6 project came with the optional baggage sack but no assembly instructions. I assume that the honeycomb floor goes on the inside of the sack, correct? Although I'm currently not planning to extend the baggage compartment floor aft of the normal zone to handle a pair of snow skis or two. I might consider it if someone has a really great idea. At a minimum I would like to possibly add a plastic thin wall tube as a fishing rod holder near the top inside edge somewhere with access from the aft end of the sack. What sort of options have been created to add something like this and how have they been attached to the structure?

Re: Baggage Sack Floor
Larry , I just watched a youtube video from one of our fellow Kitfoxers, Bryan whose stage name here is Redbowen . He has a flying Series 5 and is currently working on project Kitfox that he recently obtained and does great " how to" videos that he posts on youtube (thank you Bryan!) One of his latest was his mod on the baggage compartment which might give you some ideas . Try this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXWS_kcJ0LQ . The specific video was episode 7 of his Apex build series. (Keep them coming Bryan), . Bruce N199CL

I saw that video also. Project Kitfox is the youtube channel.
I know some who have put the floor under the sack also.

Re: Baggage Sack Floor
Thanks for the info guys and for the link which was very interesting. It was also interesting to note that the structural tubing arrangement in the rear fuselage is different on the series 7 than on my series 6. I assume mine is the same as the series 5 config where there are cross tubes in the way preventing the relatively easy rear extension that was depicted on the series 7 video. My elevator push pull tube is also higher and quickly gets in the way the farther aft one extends. Good news is there is still room for a possible tube extension aft of the baggage sack in the upper part of the fuselage. I just need to determine the best way to utilize the available space. Thats going to be the fun part.

Re: Baggage Sack Floor
Yes, the baggage floor goes inside of the baggage sack. It will help the bottom of the baggage sack to be pulled taut. it can be a bit of a pain to get the bolts in the first time.
FYI when I do my inspections I just open the Velcro around the tubes and fold the sack on top of the floor, you don't need to take out the floor and sack to inspect that area.

Re: Baggage Sack Floor
This is what I did. I can remove baggage floor without removing bolts to frame. Also used drawer pulls to tie down items in baggage area.
