Great photos Floog. Lived in Washington state many years ago. Wish I'd been able to afford an aircraft at the time and do this. Magnificent scenic countryside, like no other.
Ross, as always, nice photos of, I assume, the valley.

We had a little 2 day getaway this week. Flew from Mt Beauty and along the Murray river to Wentworth - a great little spot for a stop and for fuel. Then we headed up the Darling river to Pooncarrie where we stopped at the pub for the night before heading home.
Although the area around the Daring River is in the outback, it supports some irrigation of citrus, and other crops so the contrast is really interesting. The Darling used to carry paddle steamers that went collected wool from the large sheep stations along the way. However, that became obsolete as roads were opened up. The flows in the Darling were inconsistent and sometimes they would get stranded for years.
Another great little trip in the Kitfox through outback Australia. About 700nm in total. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Looking quite dry Ross. Also, is that Algae in the river ?. Looks very green ...
Ross!
You really are using the Kitfox for the task it is meant for!
You two are an example to us all.
Thanks for the updates, and to us, these postings are "Temptation Packages" :)
Kind regards
Reid
I agree with everyone else, Ross... I love seeing what you are doing with your Kitfox! Thank you again for sharing it!

When you run out of places in Aus to look at,head over the ditch ,we will show you around our island.:)
Hi guys - thanks for the comments - Dusty - not sure about coming over the ditch - I wouldn't be able to cope with the taunting about our rugby and cricket teams - and then there's the language barrier.....!!! and all those big hills!!
cheers

We'll go easy on ya!
Gotta look after NZ's west islanders:D
Lots of building going on but must take time to fly also. This morning was fly time.
Met Desertfox1 at his Chandler hanger early before the heat of the day comes on. Seemed like half of the local pilots had the same idea. Beautiful one hour plus flight in his Vixen around the area. No wind, bumps or even bugs to contend with. Too hot for all three I guess. Expecting 120+ degree heat here for the next 3 or 4 days. Must fly early or not at all.
There were 6 aircraft waiting to take off when we were on right downwind for 22 Right and cleared to land. Kept the speed up (118 mph) in the base to final turn and into short final. Hard forward slip to kill momentum and off runway at 2nd turn off. Got a thank you from the tower as he handed us off to ground.
They appreciate a Kitox's capabilities. So do we.;)
Then back to the shop for some cowling work.
My car said it was 114 degrees on the drive home at 5:30 pm.
A few photos of the morning flight.
