Hi Bruce, this is Brad Smith. I've recently purchased a Vixen with a continental IO240 and have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering After noticing my oil temps are high,I inspected the oil cooler ducts and realized that the builder used dryer duct from home depot aircraft supply haha. I was gonna change it to 3" SCAT duct and am inquiring about your thoughts. AlsoI have wood sensenich prop and was wondering about how often you retorque them and your thoughts about them. Thanks Brad
With the 48 pitch, I cruise about 118 mph true, 2500 rpm and 5000 msl. My indicated is around 108-110 mph. I don't remember the model number but it was for the 0-200 which probably uses the same blades as the Lycoming. The 0-200 has the SAE 1 hub which may be different than yours. I have the 44, 48 and 50 pitch cartridge, the 50 works well for cruise but I do fly into some short high altitude dirt strips that the 48 works better for. You could borrow from me any of the pitches I am not using at the time to try out, saves not having to buy to try. Mike.
