  1. Sorry Durham I just saw your pm. I used .032 aluminum and cut 8" by 2" pieces and used a brake to bend one side at 90 deg so I had a 1.75" flat with a 1/4" 90 that went the full 8". I used a piece of construction paper that I traced the shape of the rib tail. I DID NOT cut fabric I just glued and bolted the rienforcement to both sides of the exterior of the rib with the 90 going in opposite ways on the bottom of the rib. I was surprised at how much stronger in lateral movement it made the flaperon even with one done it was noticebly stronger.

    Hey whats going, i saw the work you did on the rib tails and it looks very nice. I too am undergoing a restoration of a Model 1 Kitfox. I was wondering the overall shape of the alluminum you used to strengthen the rib tail? How far back on the ribs does the alluminum go?is it one piece on each ribtail. Nice work you did.
