I have been a lifelong aviation daydreamer. I'm sure this is no different that most of you, but I've wanted to fly since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I chose the life of an engineer and resolved that I would build my way to the air. I loosely looked at both Kitfox and Sonex as viable options but was limited by in my search for the right opportunity. Fast forward to January 2025, a Providential and fortuitous conversation with the guy in my company's fab shop, I am now committed to building a late 1994 series 5 Kitfox. The fuselage kit was stored in a hanger and garage all of its life. The original builder only installed ribs on the horizontal stabilizer and elevator, which have subsequently been removed. All all other components were untouched. Let the journey of a thousand steps commence! I look forward to learning from the experiences of those who have gone before me.
