Did you guys see the announcement that the famed Clay Lacy from Van Nuys airport (see the movie 16R for context) will be flying a DC2 in a formation arrival at Oshkosh this year? I had a chance to fly a DC-3 once as co pilot ,..when i was working at GFW on biore field Nashua NH ,..they ran frieght from NH to kentucky using 2 DC-3 gooney birds .. at the last minute the original copilot showed up and i missed out ,..I moved to NC shortly after that.
The DC3 was the aircraft our little local airline ( North Central Airlines) used for years when I was a kid in Fairmont, MN. It used to fly right over our lake home every day a couple times a day. Loved the sound and that thing took a long time to fly out of site. Not the fastest aircraft you know. We always stopped playing to watch it come and go. I got to sit in a couple as a kid including the cockpit. Neat walking up that steep isle between the seats to the cockpit. I still recall the smell as it taxied away from the little clay block terminal at the Fairmont Airport. When North Central went to the Convair turbo props we kind of stopped watching them fly over. I'd love a flight in one.

I'm headed for Texas tomorrow,..might be gone up to 10 days,..visiting family and looking at a model 4 speedster ,.. so slyfox work on your short field landings the competition might be on~!!
so is your plan to go from texas to spokane? I did my RV with the wife and full fuel the other day in 400ft. that was with calm winds.
Naa spokane isn't the only airport around you had mentioned you might be going to oshkosh,..although you had said in your RV ,.but hey ,..if i get the model 4 ..I'll letcha borrow it
the better plan would be for you to go to the factory fly in. How about it.
