I am getting ready to put in the wiring for the OAT probe. Everyone that I have talked to says to put it under the horizontal stab. I was looking at the Garmin install manual, and it says not to put it in the exhaust stream or downstream of the engine compartment. Does the spiraling slipstream take the heat above this location?

Does everyone here have it under the stabilizer?

Mine (not Garmin), is under my left wing near my pitot mast. Mine plugs into the remote magnetometer that's in my left wing, which motivated that location as much as anything else.

We also went with the left wing next to the pitot tube. Only down side is if it goes out or is bad would be hard to change.

Ahhh, I see I'm not the only one who put it in the triangle. :)
