Fabric selection

I’m quite a way from finishing the inside but I went ahead and asked for the fabric and color charts/samples. I understand it takes 12+ weeks for everything to be made and delivered.
My question is about what fabric to use. I am leaning towards Cordura because of durability and ease of cleaning but noticed that most are going with velour.
What say you all? What type of fabric did you choose and why?

I went with velour, very happy with the choice. No signs of wear after 6 years and many flights.

Personally I ordered Synergy Suede with the Temper Foam Upgrade. Super comfy seats.
Probably the most durable of all of the fabrics but all will serve you well. I was sold after flying at least a couple hundred hours on these seats in several different Kitfoxs but mostly from seeing how well they hold up to hundreds of students climbing in and out of Stick & Rudder’s aircraft each year and still looking brand new.


Plan ahead what ever fabric you choose. Yes delivery does take awhile.

I wish I went suede on the seats. I don’t like the fabric on the centre console and at some point will take it off for a spackle or something.

Synergy Suede here as well. I remember Stick and Rudders plane and it still looked great. I spent a bit more on the upgraded foam as well. I didn't get but fatigue at all while flying with S&R.

I had velour originally from Skystar, then I learned how to sew, and found a
good source for memory foam and Cordura. I have to say that it's a great
material, and you can pop the seat cushions out wash them with a hose and
scrub brush and they look like new ...

This is a very individual preference kind of thing, but I like Cordura best
for airplane seats ...

Synergy suede here also. No hours on it unless you count sitting there making airplane noises, but it's high quality and very comfortable. Also have the confor-foam and I'm sure I will like it. It feels very firm at first, but that's good. Anything that feels "cushy" when you first sit in it will not be comfortable for a long haul.

I used the synergy suede and the standard Kitfox foam. After 700 hours it still looks great with no signs of wear, and that standard foam is also still very comfortable. Don't overlook the standard foam; it is quite good in my opinion.
