What is the correct way to plumb a heater core on a 582?

Scenario 1 is correct and will result in a decent flow of fluid through the core


Scenario 2 will result in nearly the same fluid pressure going in and out of the heater - meaning little heat due to little fluid flow



I'd argue that the shutoff valve is unnecessary if you can control the fans over the heater core, and the valve introduces an unnecessary potential point of failure

Agree with Dave on #1. Shut-off valve is not necessary; with both fans off there is no noticeable heat in the cabin. KISS

If your running a thermostat, I would plumb a separate outlet line from the engine bypassing the thermostat to the heater,then to the inlet side of the of the pump.
Doing this you get coolant flow all the time. One other thing,you don’t need large hose or fittings, I’m running 3/8 hose and fittings on my 912 powered
Kitfox. Works great! :)
