I have acquired a Model 7SS. It has adjustable rudder peddles that have a zip tie between the left and right adjuster. Can I cut this zip tie and adjust the left and right separately?

Hey Dave,

Adjustable rudder pedals usually refers to a lever in the cockpit that allows you to adjust the pedals up 5” or so.

By what your saying this sounds different. If it’s just adjustmentblinks, you should be able to adjust the lengths differently separately

I have adjustable rudder pedals. I have no idea why I might put a zip tie that connects the handles together. Is the seller of your airplane not available for inquiry?

I saw it when it was for sale. All I can figure is there is a harmonic rattle or something. Cut it off. If it rattles then you need to redo the pedestal cover.

Thanks - We just put on a tailwheel and took off the nosewheel(da). I'm going to put the interior back today and reweigh it probably tomorrow. Then, we'll try the rudder adjusters. Thanks again

How much would these be recommended? I am right at 6' tall.

They don’t benefit tall guys. Fixed rudder pedals are fully extended. The adjustability moves them closer for shorter folks.

Good to know. I figured as much, but figured its better to ask. :)

Sometimes it's good to be tall, saves some money in this case :)

Unless your a real skinny guy you make up for your savings in fuel cost.;)
From a short guy.

I am 5'10" and I fly with the pedals fully extended. I put the adjustable pedals in mainly for resale value and the occasional short passenger who might want to fly.
