Birthday, Christmas, and Fathers Day all came today for me as I put a down payment on a very nice Kitfox 5 today. The one I finally settled on is a familiar plane in the Idaho back country, so I may have to paint "I'm not Big John" on the side of it. Anyway, I have tons of learning to do and I'm looking forward to every minute of it. First order of business will be to talk to Paul over at Stick & Rudder, and get some dual time scheduled with him or one of his instructors.

Thanks Phil, I appreciate that. We close on our house in Mtn Home on Friday, and scheduled to close on the new house in Caldwell on the 19th, but we're hoping for sooner.

I'm also looking forward to visiting your EAA chapter with a possibility of joining.

Bartman, you saved me some money! Big John and I had traded a few emails last week but I took too long rolling it around my brain. Good for you!!! Congratulations to both parties. :)

Where did you find the 5? Congrats!

I was just flying with Paul last week. He and the training/experience was awesome! Highly recommended!

Ramos, thanks for dragging your feet, and letting me "swoop in" on it. :D Rest assured, I'll give her a good home. Thanks for the congrats.

Thanks Hockeystud. You're right, John is a great guy, and that is a "sweet ride."

I'm happy to hear "John's" airplane will go to a loving home.

Have to change your handle to "Big Bart" now...

Since "Big John" is about a head taller than me, I think I'll stick with "Bartman.":D

Congrats on you new purchase.

I too recently relocated to Caldwell and look forward to meeting you one of these days. Hopefully at an EAA Chapter meeting.

My Model 3 made it to town in the back of a U-Haul truck and currently resides in a storage unit near Caldwell Airport. Working on putting it back together.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

I plan to make it to the first EAA chapter meeting that I can. If the September meeting is next week, I may be able to make that one.

Are you able to work on your Model 3 in your storage unit?

Thanks again. I look forward to meeting you and checking out your Model 3.

Yes, not easy... no power and need to be aware of not blocking anyone else. My wife and I put the wings back on last Saturday. Used a drywall jack from Harbor Freight to help her hold the wing up while I fitted the spars.

Yeah, I can imagine that's not easy. At least you have your wife helping instead of doing it all on your own. It looks like I'm going to have to build a trailer for my KF 5, and keep it in my garage and trailer back and forth between home and the airport until I can find hanger space.

EAA 103 meets on the second Thursday each month and yes, we are meeting next week. We are in the Shep-Rock hanger at Nampa, which is at 121 Municipal Drive. The hanger is shared by CAP and EAA.

I will be out of town for that meeting so I won't be able to meet you guys. :(

The official meeting starts at 7:00 pm. Come around 6:30 because we have been getting food and it is a great chance to get to know people.
