Lets hear some numbers. Speeds, weights, fuel burn, etc. Looks exciting.

I spoke to McBean about the setup briefly. If its anything as good as he makes it sound then I am a little jealous. Very excited to see it in person, and if I am lucky hopefully I can get some stick time and report back. Not that I am complaining about my zipper powered STI, but the 915iS sounds pretty insane.

Trent, I think you should go fly it and make a video! In exchange for all the STI's you have sold and will help sell they upgrade your motor. FYI we have two STI's on order because of you!

If they can get standard wing cruise speeds out of the 915 powered STI wing, then I may be upgrading. How much weight is added with the 915 and that prop compared to a 912 install? I bet the empty weight is less than my Lycoming with 10-15 more horses.

It’s about 35lbs more. I think that wing has some serious diminishing returns once you get above 100mph no matter how much HP you have. Although, I think looking at Trent’s gear it could be cleaned up a little and faired which would probably help a lot.

Sorry guys... things have been crazy busy and I am currently in Florida. Brought the Speedster down and Kyle will be flying it in the show.

Not much to offer just yet on the 915iS. It is very early in the flight testing. Initial response? VERY SMOOOOTH and great power. Initial INSTALLED weights
Appears to be little over 100 lbs (115) lighter than the Titan and 100 lbs heavier than the 912ULS. I say appears because our scales are off being calibrated.

We are doing very short hops currently so we will not get cruise speeds and fuel burns until later.. there are also tweaks of the prop that are needed.

All in all... I feel it will be an awesome performer.

Thanks for the feedback John. Did you mean 10 lbs heavier than the 912ULS???

Have a great show!

Take comfort in knowing the 915 is being flown by Judd while John's in Florida. I was in the pattern while he was test flying above us yesterday.
