Hey there,

I have a little problem with my Modell 4 Speedster.

I need to rebuild it and have to replace the Rudder. Now I need to install the Rudder and Elevator Hinges.
The Manual says to use the Hinge Bearing Material made of some plastic.

My problem is I need this plastic bearing material.

Has anyone an Idea where to get it, KITFOX is not answering my mails.
Can I order it at Spruce or some place else.

Help please.

I was told it is the same material as the small diameter plastic tubing used for plumbing your ice maker in a refrigerator (PEX?). The ID of this tubing would need to be opened up with a drill to fit the pin, though...

The hinge tubing was discussed on the Avid list just yesterday. One fellow suggested:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

part #5033K32
Tubing Made with TeflonĀ® PTFE
3/16" ID, 5/16" OD, 1/16" Wall
Semi-Clear White
Cost $3.57 /ft

The icemaker water line I purchased from Lowes recently is labeled:

part #15275
Watts SPEB25
Polyethylene Tubing
1/4" OD x .170"
Cost $2.48 for 25' roll
